The city of Palermo, the regional capital of Sicily, boasts a history that spans millennia and numerous civilizations who left an astonishing cultural legacy and a unique fusion of architectural styles which range from the remains of Punic walls, Art Nouveau Villas, Byzantine residences and places of worship that blend Byzantine, Arab and Norman styles, to Gothic and Baroque basilicas, neoclassical theatres and rationalist palazzi. The celebrations of the city’s patron saint Santa Rosalia between the 10th and 15th of July attract thousands of visitors each year.

The Royal Palace, the Cathedral and the Zisa Palace are some of the numerous UNESCO-recognized monuments of Palermo.
